According to a Facebook post by one Gankis Haggai on Monday, May 25, 2026, the deceased entered the river while his younger brother remained on the shore, waiting for him. After a prolonged period without seeing his brother resurface, the younger sibling sensed danger and raised an alarm, seeking help from nearby residents.
Rescue and Confirmation of Death
Upon hearing the cries for help, some residents quickly entered the water and managed to retrieve the boy. Sadly, he was already unconscious and was later confirmed dead by medical personnel. The community has been left in shock and mourning over the loss of the young life.
