Three Killed in Crash on Ibadan-Lagos Expressway

Three persons have been confirmed dead, while another sustained injuries in an auto crash at Oniworo along the Ibadan–Lagos Expressway in Ogun State. The accident involved a blue Lexus Jeep with registration number GGE18 JV and a black Boxer motorcycle without a registration number.

Details of the Incident

The spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, Afolabi Odunsi, confirmed that eight persons, all male, were involved in the accident, which occurred on Sunday. He attributed the crash to speed violation and tyre burst.

Response and Rescue Operations

The Superintendent Route Commander stated that the injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, for medical attention. He added that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at FOS Morgue, Ipara. Odunsi said obstructions were cleared to restore traffic flow, while the vehicles were moved to MTD Alapako Police Station for further investigation.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and urged motorists to adhere to speed limits and ensure their tyres are in good condition.
