Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully rescued six individuals who were abducted by terrorists along the Delwa–Komala road in Borno State. The rescue operation followed a confrontation with the armed group.
Incident Details
The incident occurred at approximately 17:58 hours on June 6, 2026, when troops stationed at Forward Operating Base Molai received intelligence reports indicating that armed terrorists had intercepted and abducted civilians traveling along the route.
In response, troops were immediately mobilized for a fighting patrol to the location. Upon arrival in the general area, they reportedly made contact with the terrorists, leading to a clash.
Rescue of Victims
According to sources, the armed group abandoned the victims and fled into nearby bushes as the troops approached. The victims were successfully rescued unharmed and comprised four adult males, one adult female, and one minor.
The rescued individuals were secured and moved to a safer location for further assessment and necessary documentation.
Security Situation
The military noted that the general security situation in the theatre remains calm but unpredictable. Troops continue to maintain aggressive patrols and clearance operations across vulnerable areas to prevent further incidents.
It further stated that troop morale and operational effectiveness remain satisfactory, as operations continue to deny terrorists freedom of action within the North-East theatre.
