U.S. President Donald Trump has called for the White House to be transformed into the most secure presidential residence ever built in Washington, D.C., after a gunman was fatally shot by Secret Service agents outside the complex on Saturday evening. This marks the second major security breach at the White House in just one month.
Second Incident in a Month
In a statement on Truth Social shortly after the incident, Trump wrote: "This event is one month removed from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting, and goes to show how important it is, for all future Presidents, to get what will be the most safe and secure space of its kind ever built in Washington D.C."
Gunman's Background
Trump also revealed that the gunman had a violent history and a possible obsession with the White House. He praised the Secret Service agents and law enforcement for their swift and professional response. "Thank you to our great Secret Service and Law Enforcement for the swift and professional action taken this evening against a gunman near the White House, who had a violent history and possible obsession with our Country’s most cherished structure," he wrote.
The incident has raised fresh concerns about security at the presidential residence, with Trump emphasizing the need for enhanced measures to protect future presidents.
