Uri Geller Responds to Witch Doctor's Threat
Israeli-British illusionist Uri Geller has publicly responded to Ghanaian witch doctor Nana Kwaku Bonsam's claim that he would use spiritual powers against England captain Harry Kane ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup clash. Geller, known for his spoon-bending tricks and self-proclaimed psychic abilities, asserted that he had neutralized the alleged curse, declaring his own powers superior.
In a video shared by AskGhanaMedia on X on June 25, 2026, Geller directly addressed Bonsam, saying: “You’re a witch doctor, and you said you cursed Harry Kane. No, you won’t, because my powers are more powerful than yours, if at all you have any. You are cancelled. You won’t be able to do anything.”
Ghanaian Spiritualist's Claim
Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a Ghanaian witch doctor nicknamed the “Devil of Wednesday,” had earlier stated he was using his spiritual powers to limit Kane's impact when England faced Ghana at the World Cup. Bonsam claimed he did not intend to harm the Bayern Munich striker but aimed to prevent him from influencing the match. “I am working on Harry Kane. I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him,” he was quoted as saying.
Bonsam had previously claimed responsibility for Cristiano Ronaldo's injury before Portugal's 2014 World Cup match against Ghana, a statement that drew significant attention ahead of the tournament.
England vs. Ghana World Cup Result
The highly anticipated match between the Three Lions and the Black Stars ended in a 0-0 draw at Boston Stadium in Massachusetts, USA. Ghana advanced to the Round of 32 alongside Egypt, with a match to spare. During the game, Kane had a quiet outing, leading some fans to joke that Bonsam's prediction came true. Ghana goalkeeper Benjamin Asare credited teamwork and determination for the result that kept the Black Stars' knockout hopes alive.
According to Legit.ng, Ghana fans revived Bonsam's claim after the match, linking Kane's struggles to the alleged curse. However, Geller's intervention suggests a supernatural showdown between the two spiritualists.
