A graduate of Delta State University (DELSU) has become a trending topic online after emerging as one of the top students in the Department of Pharmacology. Okwunwa Benard Olise, who faced numerous challenges during his studies, shared his academic achievements on social media, earning widespread praise.
Outstanding Academic Performance
In his post on TikTok, Olise revealed that he graduated with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.37 out of 5.00, placing him in the top 5% of his department. He was also recognized as the Best Male Graduating Student by ranking. His accomplishments include several awards from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Administration (NIPSA) DELSU Chapter, such as the Award of Service as Director of Academics (2024/2025), Award of Excellence as an Academic Enthusiast, Award of Excellence as Best Male Academic Student of the Year, and Certificate of Recognition as Most Academically Enthusiastic Male.
Overcoming Challenges
Despite the difficulties he encountered, Olise expressed gratitude for his success. He stated, "Despite countless challenges, I still made it. For all these, I am entirely grateful to God Almighty." In another TikTok post, he reflected on his journey, saying, "Despite numerous challenges over the past few years, I am proud to have graduated in the top 5% of my department for 2025. Being ranked as the top male graduate in the department is a milestone I do not take for granted."
