Mike Bamiloye Sets Cinema Release for 'Agbara Nla: The Return'

Christian filmmaker and founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Mike Bamiloye, has announced that the highly anticipated remake of his 1993 classic 'Agbara Nla' will hit cinemas nationwide on October 1. The new film, titled 'Agbara Nla: The Return', promises to bring the same spiritual intensity to a modern audience.

Bamiloye Shares Release Date and Trailer

Bamiloye made the announcement via his social media pages, sharing a trailer for the upcoming film. In his post, he reflected on the original production, writing, “AGBARA NLA (1993)… Who Remember the experiences then? That was 33 Years ago. And the English Version: THE ULTIMATE POWER came up in 1994 and spread across the Eastern Nigeria starting from Edo.” He added, “Now coming up, remade and repackaged in higher grade. Coming to CINEMA, October 1st. Prophetically…For the Deliverance of….MUWONLERU….”

Background of the Original Film

The original 'Agbara Nla' was released in 1993 and became a cultural phenomenon, particularly known for its scary depiction of spiritual warfare. A subtitled English version, 'The Ultimate Power', followed in 1994. One of the most talked-about aspects of the original film was the word 'Ayamatanga', which many viewers believed was uttered by a character. However, in 2022, Bamiloye's son and actor Joshua (Jay Mike) clarified that the word was actually 'I Am At Anger', dispelling a long-held misconception.
