Tekno has announced his forthcoming album 'Where Did Love Go?', which is scheduled for release in June 2026. Alongside the announcement, he shares two new singles, 'Bamboo' and 'Press Button', offering the first full glimpse into the project.
New Singles Preview Album's Sound
Distributed by emPawa Africa, both tracks introduce the album's sonic direction. 'Bamboo', which opens the album, is self-produced by Tekno. Built on a smooth, groove-led Afropop rhythm, it sets a calm and familiar tone from the very start. In contrast, 'Press Button', produced by Yung Willis, shifts the energy with a dancehall-inflected bounce that feels immediate, catchy, and built for movement.
Range and Cohesion
Together, the singles showcase the range within Tekno's sound from laid-back, melody-driven moments to more upbeat, rhythm-forward records, while still existing within one cohesive world. They also highlight Tekno's hands-on creative role, as he produced the majority of the album himself, shaping both its tone and cohesion.
Album Details
'Where Did Love Go?' is an eight-track body of work rooted in romance, nostalgia, and Tekno's signature melodic ease. The project blends Afrobeats, Afro-Pop, and dancehall influences to create a soundscape that feels both familiar and emotionally grounded.
Following the release of 'Bamboo' and 'Press Button,' Tekno will share 'Matter', a mid-tempo, R&B-leaning record that adds a more reflective layer to the album ahead of the full release.
