Sowore Taunts Malami Over Past Abuses, Hands Him AAC Cap
Sowore Mocks Malami, Recalls Buhari Era Abuses

Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has publicly taunted Abubakar Malami (SAN), who served as Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) under late President Muhammadu Buhari. Malami is currently facing a 16-count charge from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged N8.7 billion money laundering, involving himself, his wife Asabe Bashir, and his son Abubakar Abdulaziz Malami.

The case includes allegations of illegal asset acquisition and concealment, with reports linking Malami to 57 properties valued at N212.8 billion. Despite being granted bail, the former AGF remains under legal scrutiny under President Bola Tinubu's administration.

Sowore recorded a chance encounter with Malami, during which he handed him an AAC cap while reminding him of past abuses under Buhari. In a video posted on Sowore's official X account, the human rights activist highlighted the irony of Malami now facing legal consequences after overseeing a period characterized by erosion of justice.

The video shows a crowded indoor setting where Sowore directly confronts Malami about the steady erosion of human rights and the rule of law during Buhari's tenure. Sowore wrote as caption: "A chance encounter with Abubakar Malami, SAN, who served as Attorney General under the fascist Muhammadu Buhari regime, a period many Nigerians remember for the erosion of human rights and the rule of law, was the steady erosion of justice. But now the tables have turned."

Public reactions have been divided. Supporters praise Sowore's fearless activism and consistency, while critics question his interactions with former officials he once condemned.
