Senator Shehu Sani, the activist-turned-politician, has announced that he has obtained the nomination form of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest for the Kaduna Central Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
Political Comeback
Sani, who served as a member of the Eighth Senate, lost his re-election bid in the 2019 elections following a rift with the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai. Now, he plans to return to the Senate in 2027.

Shehu Sani is known for his activism and political career. He holds a B.A. in Literature from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Diploma in Mass Communication. He has also obtained certificates in Google's Advanced Digital Reporting and News Lab workshops. Previously, he worked as an Editor with OperaNews and is currently the Politics and Current Affairs Editor at Legit.ng, where he was named Best Editor of the Year for Politics and Current Affairs Desk in 2023.
