The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, 1 May 2026, as a public holiday across the nation to celebrate the 2026 International Workers' Day. The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the federal government, during a press briefing held in Abuja on Thursday.
Minister Commends Nigerian Workers
In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Nigerian workforce for their unwavering dedication and resilience. He described their efforts as the vital engine driving the nation's growth and economic prosperity, emphasizing that their contributions are indispensable to the country's development.
