A prominent community leader in Plateau State, Kefas Wungak Ropshik, widely known as Kefiano, has formally indicated his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ropshik made his ambition known during a recent address to supporters in his local government area.
Although he clarified that the gathering was not an official declaration, the turnout exceeded his expectations. In a statement released by his media team to Legit.ng, Ropshik expressed surprise at the large crowd, stating that the people of Plateau State appear eager for his leadership and that he is fully prepared to meet their expectations.
If Ropshik secures the PDP governorship ticket, he may face the incumbent governor, Caleb Mutfwang, a key figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Mutfwang is currently serving as governor under the APC platform.
