Supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) loyal to Senator Shehu Buba Umar, who represents Bauchi South Senatorial District, have contributed N50 million to purchase the governorship nomination form for the lawmaker to contest the party's gubernatorial ticket.
Unwavering Support for Buba's Ambition
The leader of the group, operating under the banner of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee for Shehu Buba Governorship 2027, Alhaji Muhammadu Sade, stated that they have resolved to demonstrate their unwavering support for Buba's ambition to contest the governorship in Bauchi State during the 2027 general elections.
According to Sade, “After wide consultations, careful deliberations, and thorough assessment of the current political landscape, we, the stakeholders of APC Bauchi State, have unanimously resolved to support and present a credible, competent, and people-oriented aspirant for the governorship of Bauchi State in the forthcoming elections.”
Collective Financial Contribution
He further revealed that they collectively raised a sum of N50 million for the purchase of the APC governorship nomination form for “our son and leader,” Senator Shehu Buba Umar. Sade explained that the gesture “is not merely financial; it is symbolic. It represents our total confidence in his leadership capacity, his proven track records, his accessibility to the grassroots, and his unwavering dedication to the welfare of our people.”

The chairman added that Senator Shehu Buba Umar has, over the years, demonstrated exemplary leadership, legislative competence, and a deep understanding of the challenges facing Bauchi State. He stated that his vision for a more prosperous, secure, and united Bauchi State aligns perfectly with the aspirations of the people.
“Our decision is also rooted in the need to reposition our dear state for sustainable development, economic growth, improved infrastructure, quality education, enhanced healthcare delivery, and inclusive governance,” he added.
