Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called on All Progressives Congress (APC) members in the constituency to set aside their differences ahead of the 2027 general elections. Doguwa made the appeal during a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday, emphasizing the need for party members to remain steadfast and work collectively towards ensuring APC's victory at all levels in the forthcoming elections.
Unity and Inclusion
Doguwa, who chairs the House Committee on Downstream, reminded party members that following the recent realignment within the party, no member should be considered an outsider. He expressed his readiness to collaborate with all stakeholders and groups within the party in the constituency for the overall progress of the APC. The lawmaker also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for his support and leadership, assuring that party members would not disappoint the administration.
Appeal to Returning Members
Doguwa appealed to both longstanding and newly joined APC members to exercise patience, embrace one another, and strengthen unity within the party. He specifically called on aggrieved members who may have left the APC for various reasons to return and contribute to the collective effort of securing victory for the party in Kano State and across Nigeria. The former Majority Leader stressed that unity among APC members remains the key to the party's success in future elections.
Support for President Tinubu
On the presidential election, Doguwa urged northern Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in 2027. He argued that allowing President Tinubu to complete an eight-year tenure would promote fairness, equity, and national unity, recalling the support given to the North during the administration of late former President Muhammadu Buhari. Doguwa maintained that a united APC is essential for the party's continued success and called on all members to work together towards this goal.
