President Bola Tinubu has approved the allocation of a parcel of land in Abuja to each of the 70 ambassadors-designate. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made this disclosure while addressing journalists in Abuja on the morning of April 29.
Wike stated: 'When I was coming this morning, Mr. President called me and said, "Look, these ambassadors will be leaving Nigeria, and he believes that from time to time they will come to Abuja to brief him on what is happening in the countries where they serve. He also believes that most of them do not have a place in Abuja, so he will encourage them to see how they can put up a place here where they can stay when they come back home."'
The minister further quoted the president as directing that before leaving that morning, each ambassador-designate should have their forms filled for land allocation in Abuja. This initiative ensures that upon their return, they will not need to stay in hotels.
