Oladejo Promises Quality Representation in Mushin Reps Race

Former Lagos State spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Seye Oladejo, has formally declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Mushin Constituency II ahead of the party's primaries scheduled for next week.

Oladejo made the declaration on Saturday during a well-attended gathering in Mushin, Lagos, where party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and residents converged to endorse his aspiration. Among dignitaries present at the event were a member of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and political leader in Mushin/Odi-Olowo, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon; the incumbent lawmaker representing Mushin Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr. Yinka Esho Kazeem; Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Mr. Olatunbosun Aruwe; as well as ethnic and religious leaders and party faithful.

Addressing supporters, Oladejo said his decision to seek elective office was inspired by a commitment to deepen development and provide stronger representation for the people of the constituency at the federal level. He expressed confidence in his experience and long-standing involvement in public service, noting that his familiarity with the constituency and its challenges positioned him to deliver effective representation if elected.

The APC chieftain also commended President Bola Tinubu for ongoing economic and political reforms, which he said were aimed at stabilising the country and repositioning the nation for growth. Oladejo paid tribute to Senator Solomon for his political leadership and contributions to the development of Mushin, describing him as a seasoned politician with a distinguished record of public service at different levels of government.

Outlining some of his priorities, the aspirant pledged to pursue initiatives that would strengthen education, support vocational and industrial training, and improve opportunities for traders and small business owners within the constituency. He also reiterated his support for granting Lagos a special status in view of its economic importance and population pressure.

“If you look back, there is no gainsaying that even my bitter rivals cannot deny the fact that I have achieved a lot for the constituents. I am here today to seek your support for the House of Representatives seat for Mushin Constituency II. Without being immodest, I am one of the best Mushin has produced. With my experience, I am well acquainted with my constituency, and my constituents know me. Lagos should be accorded a special status. We shall revive our schools and collaborate with industrial training hubs. We shall also support market men and women. I am committed to supporting public policies. Together, we will build a constituency we can all be proud of,” Oladejo stated.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Mr. Olatunbosun Aruwe, expressed optimism about the chances of Oladejo and the incumbent state lawmaker, Yinka Esho Kazeem, in the forthcoming APC primaries. Aruwe urged party members to remain united and work collectively toward securing victory for the APC in future elections.

In his remarks, Director-General of the Seye Oladejo Campaign Organisation, Mr. Kayode Shobande, appealed to delegates and party faithful to prioritise competence, continuity, and experience in choosing candidates during the primaries. He stressed the need for party members to focus on leadership qualities and capacity rather than financial inducement.

Also speaking, Chairman of The Mandate Movement in Mushin Constituency, Abdul-Fatai Idowu, formally presented Oladejo and Kazeem to party members as the preferred candidates for the House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly seats respectively. The declaration event drew large support from APC members and residents, with supporters expressing confidence in Oladejo’s ability to provide effective representation for Mushin Constituency II at the National Assembly.
