Prophet Joshua Iginla, founder of the Champions Royal Assembly, has issued a strong advisory to Peter Gregory Obi regarding the 2027 presidential election. The cleric urged the former Anambra State governor to avoid accepting a deputy role, emphasizing the value of the Obidient movement as significant political capital.
Iginla's Prophetic Message on Obi's Political Path
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Joshua Iginla Ministries, in a video titled 'Prophetic Message to Peter Obi,' the prophet stated that the Obidient movement gives Obi considerable political leverage. He argued that this support base could enable Obi to mount a formidable challenge against President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.
Iginla remarked, "For me, I have said it before we got here. This is my own political opinion; just my own opinion. God did not tell me. If we want to give the current ruling party a strong fight, put Peter Obi there. Let him be second by any northerner. Then, you will give a fight."
He further cautioned, "Once it goes the other way round, Peter Obi, don't lose your political capital. If you vice anybody, you have lost your political capital. It is better to go zero and leave them to do their thing."
Lessons from Tinubu's Political Strategy
The prophet drew parallels to President Tinubu's political journey, noting, "That is why I still say that Tinubu is still one of the political gurus. It doesn't matter whether you like him or not. He sacrificed his political ambition to make sure that Buhari became president. He kept silent for eight years in order to wait for the time. When it was time, he shouted 'emi lokan.' You need patience if you want to get there. It doesn't happen overnight."
Obi's Exit from Opposition Coalition Shakes Unity
In related developments, the Nigerian opposition's hopes of presenting a strong challenge to President Tinubu in January 2027 were recently disrupted. Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who placed third and fourth in the 2023 presidential election, quit a newly formed coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The alliance, which included main opposition leader Atiku Abubakar, had aimed to back a single candidate to avoid a divided opposition.
Obi cited "endless court cases, internal battles, suspicion, and division" within the ADC as reasons for his departure. Kwankwaso also exited, with both men joining another opposition group, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Previous Prophecy on Obi's Victory
Earlier, Reverend Solomon Emeka Eliyah prophesied that Obi would secure 70 percent of the total votes in the 2027 presidential election. Eliyah also predicted that the results would face legal challenges and be "announced in the court."
