ADC Chieftain Urges New Exco to Work Hard for Party

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State, Barrister Abdulrahman Gimba, has urged the newly elected executives and stakeholders to unite and work diligently for the growth of the party across the state.

Barrister Gimba made the call during an engagement with the new ADC executives held at Gudel Hotels in Minna over the weekend. The former Minister of Sports and convener of the meeting emphasized that this initiative is necessary to kick-start intensive mobilization efforts across all corners of the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the former minister, "The task ahead of you now requires that all of you should put your house together, unite, and work as one family so that ADC will record landmark successes in the 2027 general elections."

He added, "We are here today because of a principle of participatory democracy. In participatory democracy, the elected group that oversees the affairs of the party is the engine room, and that is why I decided to engage the engine room."

The legal luminary promised to replicate similar engagements with all relevant stakeholders of the party across the remaining zones, namely Zone A and Zone C.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the engagement, the new Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Niger State, Abdulhamid El-Waziri, noted that the inability of the APC-led administration at both federal and state levels to confront challenges such as insecurity, poverty, and lack of basic amenities has resulted in the loss of innocent lives.

El-Waziri added, "The policies they are making are not necessarily bad, but before you make any policy, you must know how to cushion the effect. When you do not have a plan, you are bound to fail. Meanwhile, Nigerians are tired of this government. All the masses are tired of this government. They want an alternative, and you cannot get an alternative without a formidable opposition, and ADC is one."

Abdulhamid El-Waziri accused the APC of overheating the political scene ahead of the general elections. He questioned, "How can a right-thinking government call its legislature into Aso Rock to endorse a sitting President for another term? This is a President who said, 'If I did not give you light, nobody should vote for me for a second time.' So what are we waiting for? Did you get light?" the ADC Chairman asked.
