Adamawa 2027: Haske Launches Grassroots Tour, Pledges Inclusive Leadership
Haske Kicks Off Statewide Tour for Adamawa 2027

Abdulrahman Bashir Haske, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, has launched a comprehensive statewide grassroots engagement and appreciation tour covering all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs). This initiative is designed to enhance citizen participation and synchronize his political vision with the needs of the communities ahead of the 2027 elections.

Tour Details and Objectives

The five-day strategic tour commenced on Monday, May 11, 2026, and has already reached nine LGAs. Haske has consistently emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, agricultural development, educational advancement, and sustainable economic growth. At every stop, he underscored that the voices and aspirations of the people would remain central to his leadership agenda.

Southern Senatorial Zone Visits

The tour began in the Southern Senatorial Zone, with visits to Ganye, Toungo, Jada, and Mayo-Belwa LGAs. He was warmly received by traditional rulers, youth and women groups, party stakeholders, and large crowds of supporters.

Engagements in Other LGAs

On Tuesday, the engagement continued in Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Numan, and Demsa LGAs, where stakeholders described the visits as impactful, interactive, and development-focused. Consultative meetings were also held with royal fathers and community leaders to promote dialogue on peace, unity, and development.

Traditional Institutions Outreach

As part of his outreach to traditional institutions, Haske paid a courtesy visit to the Gangwari Ganye, during which he presented utility vehicles as a gesture of respect and partnership. He described his relationship with the Ganye chiefdom as long-standing and rooted in mutual trust and shared developmental aspirations. In response, the Gangwari Ganye described Haske as “a son of the soil and a son of destiny,” offering prayers for wisdom and urging him to remain committed to grassroots engagement.

Community and Stakeholder Support

Across the visited communities, residents acknowledged Haske’s philanthropic activities, educational interventions, and humanitarian support, noting that his contributions predate his formal political ambition. Several political stakeholders, including former Deputy Governor Martin Babale, former PDP State Chairman Abubakar Shehu, and Hon. Mansur Toungo, also expressed support for his aspiration, describing him as a leader with vision, administrative capacity, and political maturity.

Upcoming Tour Schedule

The tour is expected to continue on Wednesday in Michika, Madagali, Mubi North, and Mubi South LGAs; Thursday in Maiha, Hong, Gombi, and Song LGAs; and conclude on Friday in Girei, Fufure, Yola North, and Yola South LGAs.

Haske expressed appreciation to all communities visited, reaffirming his belief that unity, peace, and collective effort remain essential to building a more prosperous Adamawa State. He had earlier declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election on April 25, 2026, under the APC platform, and subsequently obtained his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms on April 28, 2026.
