The Renewed Hope Advocates on Wednesday inaugurated its National Executive Council at the Eliel Event Center in Jos, Plateau State, in a grand ceremony marked by political endorsements and a significant financial pledge. The group unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for the 2027 general elections, while also donating N50 million to cover the governor's re-election nomination form.
Endorsement and Donation
Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of the group, Barrister Mrs. Beatrice C.J. Dakas, declared that the gathering of executive members from all six geo-political zones was a testament to their unity and resolve. She announced the full support of the movement for both leaders, citing their achievements in office. "Today, we unanimously endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for 2027," Dakas said. She emphasized that the group would work tirelessly from urban centers to rural communities to mobilize support for the duo.
In a surprising move, the association announced a N50 million donation to Governor Mutfwang to purchase his gubernatorial nomination form. Dakas explained that the gesture was born out of love and appreciation for the governor's transformative leadership in Plateau State over the past three years. "We have seen what he has achieved. He has transformed Plateau State in many aspects. We cannot but get the form for him so that he will not even think of not contesting the next election," she added.
Appeal for Continuity
Dakas also made a passionate case for President Tinubu's re-election, urging Nigerians to support continuity over uncertainty. She highlighted the president's courage and determination in tackling Nigeria's challenges, despite the current difficulties. "I have seen the doggedness in him, the courage, and how he has tried to transform Nigeria. Let's not go for someone new who is unsure of his vision. Let him finish what he has started," she stated.
Governor's Representation
Governor Mutfwang, represented by Deputy Governor Ngo Josephine Piyo, described the inauguration as a renewed commitment to purposeful leadership and good governance. He praised President Tinubu for demonstrating courage in addressing long-standing issues and laying the foundation for economic recovery and national stability. At the state level, Piyo commended Mutfwang's visionary leadership in peace-building, development, and inclusive governance, which continues to inspire hope among Plateau residents.
Charging the new executive members, Piyo said, "This is a call to service, diligence, loyalty, and commitment. Our endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang is rooted in confidence, performance, and a shared vision for a better future. Let us take this message of renewed hope to every community and every citizen."
Senatorial Aspirant's Support
Barr. Gyang Zi, SAN, the Plateau North Senatorial Aspirant, commended the group's gesture, dismissing criticism that the governor could afford his own form. He noted that the donation was an act of love and passion for the state's growth. "Today, it is sealed. Governor Mutfwang and President Tinubu are endorsed by this body. We are in full support of what they have been doing," Zi said. He acknowledged existing challenges but expressed confidence that they are surmountable with continued support.
Outreach to Vulnerable Groups
Beyond political endorsements, the Renewed Hope Advocates extended support to vulnerable members of society, including persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged individuals, by distributing cash donations. The event concluded with a call for unity and proactive engagement as the group prepares to spread its message across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections.
