Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a trader named Osifo Stanley from Edo State has purchased the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination forms for N100 million. The development, which occurred on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, positions Stanley as the first challenger to President Bola Tinubu for the party's ticket.
Legit.ng reports that Stanley may contest against Tinubu during the APC primaries. A video of the form purchase was shared on X by Imran Muhammad, the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda.
Faleke Picks Forms for Tinubu
Earlier on the same day, James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja federal constituency, collected the APC expression of interest and nomination forms on behalf of President Tinubu. Suleiman Argungu, the APC national organising secretary, formally presented the forms to Faleke at the party's national secretariat in Abuja. Faleke, who is also the founder of the Tinubu Support Groups, has been a longtime ally of the president. The N100 million fee was paid on behalf of Tinubu, signaling the official commencement of his bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
