The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has assured that the party will sponsor candidates capable of winning elections. Speaking at the party's national secretariat in Abuja on Wednesday, Mark addressed members of the Forum of ADC Former Federal Lawmakers, emphasizing that the challenges faced by the party would serve as motivation for electoral victory.
Call for Unity
Mark urged party members to close ranks and avoid factionalization. He stated, "Our opponents are bringing renegades as one-man factions. We shall overcome all their shenanigans." He added that Nigerians are already aligned with the ADC and called for collective effort to achieve success.
Impact of Defections
Regarding the defection of former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, as well as former Kano State Governor and NNPP presidential candidate Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, Mark acknowledged their exit has an impact but stressed it would spur the party to work harder. "No doubt, the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso has its impact, but that will spur us to work harder," he said.
